Just thought I would update you on whats been happening re: ds1 as you were all so very helpful....
Meeting with teacher not too good...discovered ds1 had been on an IEP for 3 months and knew nothing about it. Told me they dont assess children of 6 (not true). Came out feeling it had all been a bit pointless.
Made appointment with school SENCo. She cancelled due to sickness...they dont know how long she will be off for so went to see acting head the next day....
Told her my concerns...she got me a copy of the IEP (not sure its that great tbh) and is going to speak to the lady who comes in and does the assessments (who has also been off sick for 2 months) but who should be back this week....
Have got a phone consultation with Dyslexia action on weds afternoon to discuss my concerns...cant really afford to get thim assessed privately but would be good to hear what they think.
Have been using Toe by Toe for 3 weeks and he is doing well....I think its helping his self confidence
Parents evening on thursday which I am dreading but I think they have grasped I am not going to let this go.
