Hi

How do I decide on what will be a good school for my child due to go into the current reception year? I'm concerned about him catching up and want a supportive school. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

I'm afraid your options will be limited by which schools have places available, which by definition are likely to be the less-successful ones (though that doesn't necessarily mean they're not good schools). You can go on waiting list for more popular ones, but realistically will only get in if you live v. close.

Phone the LEA, they'll tell you which schools have spaces. Why did your child not start reception with the rest of his cohort?
