Hi, I'm ploughing through next term's planning [halo emoticon] and I really need to teach some dance to my year 5/6 class. We have a thematic approach to the curriculum and our theme is 'cirles' so I want to link the dance to this, or possibly electricity.

I'm sure this could be done in a really fun way but I'm very much NOT a dance specialist so wondered if anyone has any fantastic links to sites with dance lesson plans, or any suggestions as to how I could approach this. I have a very boy heavy class who won't take happily to anything 'uncool'.

Thanks

You could contrast two types of music/dance

Perhaps electric avenue with Circles of my mind?

Or maybe swirlly music with something by a group like Kraftwerk (sp)

Ballet vs body popping
