I am wondering how old a child birn in May would be when s/he goes to school full time in Scotland (I think this is P1)?

They would start in the August following their 5th birthday. Usually start off mornings but progress to full time after about 6-8 weeks. It varies with the authority though.

She would start school in the August after her 5th birthday.

It usually starts at half days for a couple of weeks but really depends what local authority you live in.

The cut off in Scotland is the 28.2./1.3., IYKWIM.
If there are any concerns, children can be assessed and can be allowed a further year until they start school.
