Catholic schools in NW london?

Ok, following on from an earlier post on how all my friends send their kids to private schools, i am desperately seeking Mnetters with direct experience of some of our local primaries... I am considering catholic options as we are practicing catholics so i think we may stand a chance... anybody has any experience of catholic primaries in NW London (borough of Camden)???

thanks in advance

If you're talking about the Rosary on Haverstock Hill, its considered one of the best schools around!

thanks norflondoner (love your name!), i know it's got a glowing ofsted and all but do you actually know any real children who go there??? cos i don't and i really want to hear some actual facts about it!

Not anymore I'm afraid. We moved away from the area and so lost touch but I know they still have some great PTA events (my mother still lives locally and always goes to their summer fair!) and I'm sure you could find parents through the PTA.

Have you been to the family mass on Sunday? If you are contemplating the school you would need to make yourself know to the priest well in advance of applying...and you'd meet parents there as well. I am often asked by prospective parents about my dc's school at sunday mass and am always quite happy to give a balanced view.

good point about the mass Norf. We do attend a different parish and we were assured that that doesn't matter provided we do actually go to church somewhere. But I will be on the lookout for the summer fair!

thanks

Beforesunrise - you are right. It doesn't matter where you attend mass and it is your right to choose which priest to sign any reference form.

thanks Zanzibar. do you have any direct experience of the ROsary or are you talking in general terms?

beforesunrise - I have no experience of the Rosary.. my comments are based on the Diocesan code of practice for admissions which schools admission processes typically follow (and are required to follow)

beforesunrise - did you see this weeks Ham & High? Front cover!

thanks Norf- I hadnt seen it, just read online... tbh when i went to visit i didn't think the portakabins were that bad I even quite like the fact that reception children were away from the main building!
