DS2's school sweatshirt, which had been missing since September turned up, then the next day went missing again

It has his namesewn in it and also written on the label. Whoever had it was using it, as it smelled of fabric conditioner. There is a child with the same first name as DS2 (different spelling) but his last name is completely different to ours.
The missing jumper was given to DS2 by a classmate who said "Here's your jumper I found it in next doors classroom".
SO the person who had it intially must have taken it again, what can I do? I don't know this child or his parents - assuming it is the one with the same name, it could be someone else completely. But why would you go around wearing a sweatshirt with another child's name on it?

Perhaps his parents won't buy him his own sweatshirt. Don't know.

I would mention it to the teacher and if you get it back sew some (temporary) buttons on it so its really obvious its not anyone elses. The parent may not have noticed (hopefully!). Sew a red ribbon on the inside too so its really personalised.

I do seemed to have painted myself as a bit of a one trick pony.

I honestly do write quite lengthy posts sometimes.

I believe you, honest

I bet Mum or dad haven't even looked tbh- they send ds in with a sweatshirt, it goes in the wash and out again.

OTOH they might not care

Someone took ds3's hat off his peg, quite obvious as from a place on the IoW!, scribbled out ds3's name badly and wrote their own dc's name inside.

Why 0h why......
