Anyone's DC recently sat a 7+ exam, what will you say if they 'fail'?

DS1 sat his 7+ this weekend. He's only going for one school as we really fell in love with it. He's at a state school so has seen the whole thing as a bit of an adventure and has enjoyed the process.

He does know, however, that it was a test and there is a possibility that he won't get in. I'm pretty sure we can be gentle with him if he doesn't get in and persuade him that staying where he is is just as good. TBH where he is is pretty good and if he doesn't pass then it clearly wasn't for him.

Wondering if anyone else is going through this process or has been through it. Some of the little boys (and their parents!) there yesterday seemed very worked up about the process so wondering how they'll cope if the news isn't want they wanted to hear.

DesperatehousewifeToo...do you mind if I contact you directly as my ds will do the 7+ for Latymer next year? I'm a little sad about making him to do exams..pressure pressure, but it seems that is the way to go.

Hi Fliberty, feel free. I'm happy to email or have a chat with you.

No news, the meeting is tomorrow evening, so the registrar will probably phone on friday, as she said she would like to speak to me before the half term holiday. I am getting extremly anxious. Will keep you informed.

DesparatehousewifeToo, would you be so kind to e-mail some papers to me too? It might help Dd with her SATS. [email protected]

DesperateHousewifeToo · 11/02/2009 17:41

Of course Malka, will send the papers to you when I get around to scanning it all in.

Malkperlichka and Vickyconfused - have sent you both two sets of past papers, english and maths. The school do not send out verbal reasoning papers but Bond books are readily available both online and in various bookshops.

Malka, did you hear from the school?

DesperateHousewifeToo · 13/02/2009 18:36

Malka, the emails sent to the email address posted above have all been bounced back as 'failure to deliver'.

Sorry.

Was the address on here correct or do you have another address you would like me to use?

Malkaperlichka · 15/02/2009 09:10

Sorry, it is [email protected]. Thank you very much for taking time and do this. I have news: she has done 'quite well' academically, but now they want to see my tax return in order to decide on the bursary. It means that I will not hear from them before the school starts again.

DesperateHousewifeToo · 15/02/2009 10:23

Well that sounds good. Maybe just a case of 'how much' you get for the bursary rather than 'if'.

Have just sent the papers again. They are in four separate emails, two sets of papers.
