Schools in Guildford

Hello to all! I'm new to this website but am so impressed by what I've seen so far. My husband and I are moving from South Africa with our three little girls (7, 5 and 3) to Guildford this year. I have been researching schools and have been reassured by what I've read. We are looking at moving to Merrow or Burpham are but are open to any area around Guildford that has good schools. Any suggestions? The school situation is the most stressful for me especially since I'm a psychologist and know how important finding the right school is especially to help the girls adjust.

Kim,

If you are looking for a private school then there is a really lovely girls school in Claygate, Rowan. here. It goes up to age 11.

Also, have you tried the 'search' option on the Mumsnet site. I'm sure there's been threads on this before.

Good luck

For Private - Guildford High School/Tormead/St Catherines - but all over subcribed and I think you have missed the entrance assessments for September 2009. State - Pewley Down (and follow on I can't remember) Boxhill, Merrow, all good reputations, all over subscribed. Also for State schools Consider Godalming - lovely town to live in and good schools

If you come to Godalming you would have to make sure you are in the right area for the best schools. Lovely place to live - best schools are so oversubscribed and the other schools are dire.
