Youngest DC just started school, am feeling sad [sad]

Title says it all, 3 yrs ago in Oct 05, we adopted 3 children and youngest was 10 months old. I can't believe(sp)how quick the time has flown and today she started school full time in reception. Was in tears when i got home, as house seems so quiet and i can go for a pee in peace, but am missing her.

Have told the teacher, i might keep her at home for a couple of afternoons per week as think she is bit young just 4.1 but her 2 best friends are there full time already.

Does it get easier having a empty house for the day or not.

Dd (who had to start school at 4 years 3 days) did mornings-only all year. It was very beneficial for her - and me!

You'll be surprised how time flies when they're at school - look, at 20 past 11 you've only got about two and a half hours and you've got to go and fetch them all!

Yes, it does get easier. My ds started aged just 4 .... too young imo. I missed him so much - a full day was a long time for me and him, I think.

After the first couple of weeks, we both had a new routine. Still miss his little smile and company during the day, but I know he's really having a good time and is v.happy at school playing and learning with his mates.

Thank you for all your kind words, they have helped, anyway picked up her at 3.15 and she was asleep by 6.30. Teacher said she had to have a word with her, as she was pushing the boundaries (no change there then).

I cried for weeks when my only child started school in september so I know exactly how you feel. The house was so empty and I really missed taking her to playgroups,music sessions,gymtots etc. I thought I would never get used to it but you do!!
I have increased my hours at work and on the days when I am at home and she is out at school I ensure all my jobs are done so we can spend quality time together after school and at weekends.

It's made me feel really sad reading your post. My third and last DC started this week. When I left her today for an hour, I will never, never forget the look on her face as the teacher led her by the hand to sit on the carpet with the other children. She looked back at me, not in sadness at all, but I just felt like something has really changed. It's as though I have now handed her over to the big wide world.
However it will be fantastic to have some time to explore your own interests again, won't it?

Well got to say only 2 days in and she is loving it and i managed to get loads done in the house much to DHs amazment.

Thanks again, tomorrow morning i am planning on having a nice relaxing bath.
