Bully teacher

My son started school in September and we've had nothing but trouble from his teacher. He is a boisterous child but can be managed. The Xmas school play parts were given out and he was delighted that he would be an angel. However, since then he has been away from school for three days (authorised by the headmaster) and has now been told he is no longer an angel. He is terribly disappointed and I feel he is being punished for my decision to take him out of school. He is only four so has no real understanding of why he is being treated like this. When he was told, he kicked off and got sent for time out! Has anyone else had experience of teachers like this?

I think there are two separate issues here. One is his boisterousness and kicking off, which the teacher needs to get a handle on, and if he is disrupting the class then of course the teacher has to deal with it quite firmly.

The issue of the school play is different. Did he miss rehearsals on his absent days?

i would ask the teacher why he can no longer have his part tbh
she may have another reason entirely.

I think he may have missed one rehearsal but she did know he would be away when she gave him the part. His permission was given by the headmaster some months ago and I also reminded her of this.

I feel so sad for him that they can be so cruel about his little part that he was so proud of. He didn't want to be Joseph or Jesus!!
