HELP! Bilingual schools in France?

AnyaJulia · 10/11/2008 17:06

We are moving from China to France- region Nord-pas-de Calais or Paris.
Anyone knows of primary/secundary schools in France, offering bilingual (English, French) education (and support for non-native French speakers)?
Our girls are 11 and 9 yrs old, are bilingual Dutch/English and speak basic French and Chinese.
I would like to get into contact with other expat mums, currently living in the North of France.

Hi Anya Julia

For Paris, a suggestion from me would be Ecole Active Bilinge Jeannine Manuel. Very academic, but a superb bilingual curriculum.

Since I was there, they've opened up a branch in Lille, should you want something outside of Paris.

Worth a look:

I looked at the website of the EABJM in Lille: seems perfect for what we need (We'll be close to the Belgian border).
Anyone knows whether it is hard to get in?

Hi
I'm in the Pas de Calais, nr St Omer. Where are you moving to?

Hi everyone, my husband and I and our 8-year-old daughter plan to spend a year or two in Paris and we are sending applications to EABJM and Eurecole. Do you know what the metro stops are for these schools? We live in Los Angeles right now. We are also looking for a two-bedroom apartment close to these schools. My husband is French. Our daughter goes to Lycee Internationale de Los Angeles. If anyone knows of a family who plans to spend a year in Los Angeles, we are also considering an apartment exchange. Merci!

Your 8yo will be at the theatre branch of EABJM - nearest metro stops are emile zola, cambronne, commerce and la motte picquet-grenelle.

EABJM is very competitive: they place great store on parental involvement though and commitment to the school's psrticular method of education. The Chinese, however, will definintely help. It's offered at the Paris branch of EABJM.
