Red,Green,Yellow light system for discipline

Can someone explain how this traffic light system works for primary school children. I believe it is some sort of discipline tool

All the children start off on the green circle.

If they misbehave they go on to the orange circle.

If their behaviour improves they move back to green.

If their behaviour worsens they move on to red and then some other form of discipline usually kicks in, eg report cards, detentions or whatever the school uses.

i smetiimes use it as a volume control cue - as in what type of task it is....for whole class not just individual

Very similar .

They all start off on a green light.

AMber means they have a warning from the teacher, behaviour must improve.

Red is for serious misdemeanors or if behaviour worsens after amber. They are sent to see the head and a letter sent home.
