What do school governor's do??

One of the Mum's has become a school governor - I am just curious as to what they do within a school? She was jsut commenting to someone else that it was like sitting with Royalty as she was now a Governor! Are they that important, or is she up her own ***!!!

I'm a governor, we go to meetings with other governors (some teachers), and talk lots about the ins and outs of how the school runs.

The most exciting thing about it is learning all the teacher's first names.

Tis very interesting though, I enjoy it.

That is exactly what I thought - but I guess there is probably more to it than that! There are three new ones at the school, with one who has been there a while (or was re-elected) and someone who I dont know, and the three of them are like a Witches Covern!! God help the management team having to deal with them!!
