Number bonds homework help please

DS homework is "write the number bonds of 100" does that mean 10, 20 , 30 , 40 etc?

Sorry, being thick but want to make sure I have understood the question.

number bonds (from what I@ve gathered) is numbers that you add to get to get to 100 - DS1 has only really done up to 20 so far so it's

2+18
3+17 etc etc

I thought that but it doesn't say "number bonds to 100" it says number bonds of 100" That's why I am a bit confused.

what year- if it's year 3 then they need to know 20+80= 30+70= etc ie multiples of 10.

Hi Robinpud, yes year 3. So it should be multiples of 10? 10 + 90 = 100 etc?

THat's what I would do. I can't see any value in writing 81+9 etc. Number bonds are something they should have quick recall of .
Definitely multplies of 10 only. don't forget 0!

For Year 3, I would also add 95+5, 85+15 and so on unless he finds the multiples of 10 bonds hard to remember. Multiples of 10 bonds are usually covered in Y2 or even Y1 as soon as children are secure in bonds to 10.

Number bonds to 10
0+10=10
1+9=10
2+8=10
3+7=10
4+6=10
5+5=10

10+0=10 etc

Number bonds to 100

0+100=100
10+90=100
20+80=100
30+70=100
40+60=100
50+50=100

100+0=100 etc

My Yr3 is actually doing
99+1
98+1
97+1
etc. as said previously they did
10+90
20+80 etc. late Yr1/early Yr2.

If this is his first introduction to number bonds to 100, then it should only be the multiples of 10.

CMTS to you mean 98+2, 97+3? That would also be correct for no bonds to 100.

Yes I do...it is my Bucks fizz that means 98+1 and 97 + 1

He has done the multiples of 10 already so I think it may be the 99+1 etc but I can't see the value of writing these all out! I have asked him to check with his teacher today. Thanks for the replies.
