Anybody know the general curriculum / expectations of Y1 classes?

We don't have a curriculum meeting at dd's school and I was wondering what the expectations are for them this year - what should the be able to do by the end of the year? And what does the year mostly consist of?

and for other subjects they should be working towards level 1 of the national curriculum

BUT, if your child did not meet all the early learning goals in reception they should still be working towards these and should be doing work that helps them do this.

btw its very very normal for children not to have reached every early learning goals at end of reception and the year 1 teachers should have had this information from reception staff

These are the Year 1 objectives for Literacy (middle column)and these are for Maths (click on all the headings to the left). All this is a bit teacher jargony, but I haven't found a simplified one yet....HTH

How do I work out what the early learning goals were for Reception?

How many children per year are expected to meet these kind of goals?

and out of my last years intake of reception of 16

prably 6-8 had met them all (but bright intake) some had met the majority and 3 have stayed with me in yrR for another term as they are a bit beyond doing year 1 work
