I've has a letter home from ds1's reception teacher which includes their daily timetable. Every day they do CIP; does anyone know what this is?

Most probably 'child initiated play' - it means that the children have a free choice of the activities set up for the session, and aren't in any formal groupings or teaching situations.

That sounds about right. At my boys school its called self initiated play. DS2 does it every morning in reception.

Aaah, that makes sense. Thanks, you've saved me asking the teacher
