Breakfast and After School Club question

Hi, my ds will be starting reception this week.
When he goes full time in a few weeks time he will go to breakast club beofre school twice a week and afterschool club twice a week
We've been told for the first yera that we take the children right into the classroom and pick them up from the classroom until Y1 when presumably they are all dropped off in the playgroud.
So will the after school staff pick him up from his classroom - otherwise how will he know where to go (don't like the idea of him aimlessly wandering round the school !) and in the morning will someone take him to his classroom do you think?

Ask your before/after school club to be sure, but i suspect they will take him from before school to the classroom, and then will do pick-up from the classroom to take him to after school club.

That's what happens in our school in reception, Y1 and Y2. By juniors they are expected to find their own way over to after school club, but as the club know who they're expecting they stand at door and watch out so no one goes astray.

Not sure, but could you not just ask whoever runs the Afterschool club?

At DS's school yes they would make sure that the little ones, in particualr, were taken to their classroom and picked up from there. His teacher will know not to let him go out to the playground after school.

all the before and after schools I have experience of take and collect reception to and from their classrooms, after year 1 they have to go theirselves, apart from my current school were the club is at the infants school on different grounds to the juniors and they are escorted all the way through primary.
