My 6 year old needs a navy garbadine coat for school and I can't find one anywhere. Does anyone know of any websites? She needs a long one.

Bet John Lewis does these. I'll look for you.

JKGrowling · 21/08/2008 17:26

hello ppb.
long time no see.
although I am currently in disguise, so you won't know who I am, but hello anyway.

paulaplumpbottom · 21/08/2008 17:27

Thanks!!!!!I did check John Lewis and I got nothing. I would have thought it was a common item but it doesn't seem to be

paulaplumpbottom · 21/08/2008 17:51

No the school doesn't know and they aren't sold in the shop where i bought everything else. I'm desperate so price is not an issue

paulaplumpbottom · 21/08/2008 17:53

Isn't garbadine usually treated?

Slouchy · 21/08/2008 17:58

Sorry, I am flummoxed. Enid's link looks your best bet paula. Good luck!

paulaplumpbottom · 21/08/2008 18:01

I called Perry's and it isn't garbadine.

I doubt you'll find one online tbh.

It's probaly only going to be stocked by a small independent shop these days. Why hasn't the school recommended an outfitter?

paulaplumpbottom · 21/08/2008 18:06

apparently their usual supplier stopped making them

Oh dear, that's not fair for the school to insist then imo.

Thb I'd wait until term starts and then ask the school for their opinion/advice.

Because as we all know it will be blazing sunshine for the whole of September and dd won't need a gabardine coat for ages.

paulaplumpbottom · 21/08/2008 18:13

It isn't fair and I'm really irritated to be honest.

I know she won't need it right away. I just wanted to be prepared

I'll give them a go. You would think that would be the case at my daughter's school but it doesn't seem to be.

Thanks Dilemma, I appreciate the help

Morleys in Derby sell them and (I think) will post out. Their number is: 01332 281311

DD has to have one and although I was horrified at first I'm converted, much better than a duffle coat.
