TRAFFORD - Primary Schools in Hale / Altrincham / Timperley

Looking for any general advice on primary schools in this area - new to the area and looking to start in September 2009.

Which are thought of as the "good" schools and which are best avoided? Obviously thinking of entry to AGGS / AGBS but looking for somewhere with happy children / extra curriculum activities / parental involvement too.

Thanks in advance for all your comments (hopefully)

All schools in area re good, I think. In Timperley, I know St Hugh's and Heyes Lane are considered good,my children go to St Hugh's and it is a happy school. My older children are at AGSB/AGGS and their friends come from a wide range of schools in area - those mentioned in Timperley and Well Green in Hale, Bowdon. State primary schools will not prepare children for AGGS/AGSB exams but if your child is bright and does a bit of practice most schools in area are fine, I think. Have a look at the Ofsted reports.
