Is this enough time?

Hi

Just wondering how much time you should leave between leaving nursery and starting primary school? My daughter's last day at nursery will be August 21st and she starts school on Sept 3rd. When we had a home visit they asked when she would be leaving nursery and said "July the...?"...oohhh getting a bit worried now?

How long a gap did you leave?

Thanks

They are talking about a maintained nursery school/class which will have the same term dates as the reception class. I've had children start in my reception class who attended day nursery the previous day

DD was in private nursery, not school based preschool. I was working, so still needed to use the nursey until she started schol. So, DD finished a week before school started, we had a week's break together at home, then she went to school full time int he september.

DD also starts school on 3rd September; she finishes nursery on 28th August. She does Tuesday to Thursday at nursery so is missing just one of her normal nursery days (Tuesday 2nd) before starting school. Some of the children in her group will be doing half days in school and half days in nursery until they go full-time at school, so an overlap rather than a gap!

My DD also does Tues to Thurs! Thanks again for your replies. Not feeling as panicked now! :-)
