Yr6 SATs have been marked 'wrongly'

We got the papers back in time but apparently there were huge numbers of inaccurately marked papers. So they've been sent back. All the children have been asked to bring the test papers that they did in the run up to provide evidence of the sort of marks they were getting.

Is this just sour grapes on the school's part - they need good results this year- or could it really be a screw up. Anyone had an experience like this?

We had to return our maths papers as half of them were unmarked. Reports have had to be delayed until we get them back

But I am still angry that the school has to pay for remarking. If it is proved that the marking was inaccurate will they get a refund? Anyone know?

I thought it was interesting that our Y6 maths and science results were bang on the teachers predictions, but the English results were lower than expected.

Same here stella. In fact maths and science were a bit higher. Literacy was way off beam - not just lower but completely inconsistent.

It has been a nightmare for the markers - papers not delivered, inaccurate pupil lists, papers missing, a complete disaster from beginning to end.

We haven't had any of ours back. It really makes me sad for both the children and the teachers; they have worked so hard preparing for the exams only for this disaster. I don't think I will really trusts the marks as being accurate, when ever they do arrive.

Not had ours back yet. I thought Y6 had been wasted anyway with all the practice papers and not enough real teaching but this just compounds it. Any results will have no credibilty anyway.
