Would it be wrong of me to go to this assembly?

From last September until May half term I went into a year one class every Friday to help with reading. Since the last half term I have only been once (on the 13th of June), but then stopped, which I let the teacher know about, because I just didn't have time anymore.

This coming Friday they are having a special school assembly where, amongst other things, parent helpers are thanked. I feel kind of weird going because I stopped before the end of the school year. Do you think I should still go?

Have you been invited to attend? If so, go.

emkana · 08/07/2008 22:23

Yes I have been invited.

yes - you went for ages - well done!

Yes go! You were helping out every week until the last half term of the school year, that's a lot of hours you have put in. You should be proud of yourself, not ashamed that you haven't been able to help out for a few weeks. We have no parent helpers at all in the school where I work, we would love to find someone like you!

LilRedWG · 08/07/2008 22:25

Definitely go! You gave up what time you had, when you had it. Well done.

We have a parent helpers' lunch & we ask anyone who's helped at all, even once - so go & enjoy it!

emkana · 08/07/2008 23:22

ok will go

good, bear in mind most parents can't or won't help out AT ALL. The work you've done justifies your attendance at the assembly AND some!
