We got there a few mins early, for a 1.15 start, to be told to go away and come back at 1.30 - had just checked the letter so knew I was right, but left anyway, met a load of other parents on their way so we all went back, were kept outside until after 1.15 then let in, no apology for turning us away. Then no guidance or introductions, it was just assumed everyone knew what was going on, who people were, what to do etc... Its hard enough taking them for their first visit without the school making it worse! Just a rant, don't expect any responses

Can't not comment. That's really awful. I hope that you at least liked it when you got in there after them being so rude. Let's hope that they're better when September comes.

That's rude, I think. we have dd2's visit on Tuesday and the school sent dd2 her own little personalised invitation which she was hugely chuffed with. So I'm hoping it will be more organised than yours, sounds a nightmare.

thank you I'm just about keeping it together! They seem to assume everyone has siblings further up the school so knows what the procedure is

yes v disorganised - we had forms that had to be sent back 'asap' then another letter asking why we hadn't sent them back when the deadline was coming up and an order form for uniform but no uniform list I feel a complaint coming on...

I found that, that they just assume that you know everything via osmosis, or something. I think they forget that sometimes it's a parent's first child in the school that they're dealing with. I'm sure it'll be alright when your LO goes there, I imagine that school is havoc at this time of year with everyone stir crazy!
