School Nursery alleged abuse

My DD attended nursery last term at Hugh Myddleton Primary. I was invited in a group chat with other parents whereby concerns were raised by several parents that their toddlers were being hit by a member of staff. All in total about 5 including my DD. A parent who was knowledgeable in child protection reported this to the police, OFSTED and the LA. Nothing came of it and the member of staff still remains in the school. Should more of been done? My DD was 2 at the time she kept saying the teacher had hit her. I noticed injuries but assumed she’d hurt herself playing.

Did you or any of the parents who were actually involved report this to anyone, rather than just discussing it in a group chat? If not, that's very strange and I can imagine that the claims were dismissed due to a lack of evidence. A random parent who isn't really involved making a report is silly, if there are parents of alleged victims who should be doing so.

If you did report it, what happened before "nothing came of it"? Did the police take statements, photos etc? What was the process of closing the case, and did you not press for further investigation?

If I thought for one fraction of a second my child had been hit at nursery I would have removed them.
Was there an investigation? If not there should have been. If there was, I can only assume nothing untoward was discovered.

Were you spoken to?

We had major safeguarding concerns about our child's nursery everyone in the group chat removed their child that week and the whole place was closed in a few months.

It is very rare to have a situation in which five separate parents have suspicions. I would not leave it there. And yes, I’d be removing my child,
