Whiteknights Primary, Earley: current parents' views?

We're hoping to move to Earley for Reception in September 2027, and Whiteknights is the school we're most interested in. The results speak for themselves, but we'd love to hear from current parents, especially of younger children: what is it like day to day, how happy are the children, and has anything changed since the new head started in 2024? Thank you!

Not a parent there so can't help with the day to day bit, sorry, but one thing worth knowing if you're house hunting for it. Wokingham are switching loads of schools from catchments to straight line distance from Sept 2027, but Whiteknights is an academy so it sets its own rules, and its 2027-28 admissions policy still uses a designated area (in-area siblings, then staff kids, then everyone else in the area, with distance only as the tie break). So check the actual house is inside its designated area, not just "in Earley", before you commit to anything.

Also the Ofsted everyone quotes is from the Feb 2023 inspection, so it's from before the head change you mentioned. I'd ask about that straight out when you look round, and have a proper look at a couple of the other Earley primaries too so the other choices on your form are ones you'd actually be happy with. Closing date for Reception is 15 Jan 2027 and offers come out 16 April, so worth checking with Wokingham which address they'll go on if the move isn't done by then.

Full disclosure, I'm developing a school comparison site that's completely free to use, schoolcompass.uk, it puts nearby schools side by side on the published stuff so might help with the rest of the shortlist.
