Hi, does anyone feel such a mix of emotions with their child leaving primary school? I have a feeling of dread in the pit of my stomach about secondary school and feel very emotional about him leaving. On the other hand I feel relieved that I won't have to remember money for a variety of things or a different coloured shirt every other week!

I’ve always had the mix of emotions but sorry to break this to you it doesn’t get better in secondary school from my experience, still need money for various fundraisers and different dress up throughout the year!

I know all schools are different but neither of mine have done so much as a non uniform day all the way through secondary!

The secondary school my sons going to my eldest has just left and the only non uniform day they do is Christmas jumper day! Which is still uniform but instead of a blazer a Christmas jumper. He may have had 1 or 2 in the 5 years he was there. They don't celebrate any of the charity days either. My youngest has just had 5 non uniforms in 1 term at primary to raise money for the school, not including the costs of trips and extra summer activities, I think this year has been one of the most expensive years for me in school, I think its great that they do all of the stuff and the kids love it but at times it's draining trying to remember the money for everything!
