School appeal and waiting list

We have recently unsuccessfully appealed a primary school place for my child. The class is full, 30 children, with only one F2 class. We are 4th on the waiting list for this school.
Does anyone have any experience in this position? What are our chances being 4th on a list? I want to be hopeful but I’m going to imagine the chances are pretty slim, there being only one class etc.

You’d have to have 4 people turn the school down which is probably unlikely

It really depends on the area and lots of other factors – is there a lot of mobility for example? In some schools fourth might be hopeful, though tbf less so in mid July. In others not much chance at all.

The only thing you might find is that if a space does come free in say early Sept, other parents may have made their peace with the allocated school and not want to switch so you may get lucky if you are happy to buy two lots of uniform.

Is your allocated school OK? I would be gettign excited about that (you may already be doing so)
