Boys school trousers

Hi, my son is about to start y3 and I need to find school trousers that actually fit. They are always either too big in the waist or too short in the leg!

Does anywhere do a long length in kids trousers? I've tried Next, M&S , Asda , Matalan. It is driving me crazy, he has refused to wear them and has worn tracksuit bottoms instead. The school is quite laid back but obviously the trousers look smarter.

What doesn't he like about school trousers? I've found them to be much of a muchness. Most of those you've listed do slim fit and longer length legs. Trutex website also.

M&S does various length, fits and adjustable waists, sounds like he want to wear tracksuit trousers.

M&S do long and extra long both of which have an adjustable waist and a double hem that can be let down to give another inch or 2. My DS is 14 and 6'4" with a 28inch waist and had been tall and skinny since the day he was born. He has worn M&S trousers for school since reception. He hasn't ever worn tracksuit bottoms because they are always way too short. We really struggle for non uniform trousers but uniform is OK.

We mostly have the same issue with tracksuit bottoms Kitchen but I get the next baggy fit ones in a size bigger. Because he can tighten them with a drawstring he's happy with them. If only we could get school pants with a drawstring life would be great! I'll try M&S again for alternative ones , thanks.

Next do longer length joggers. It does sound like your son doesn't like the feel of non stretch trousers.

Went he was young ish he struggled with tying/ undying drawstrings so he either worried about getting stuck knotted in to joggers or worried about them falling down. Because that was an issue when he was small he never got into the tracksuit habit. Once they are 6 foot+ it's a pain to find anywhere that does long enough legs in joggers let alone with a narrow wasit too.

I now have a source for very long skinny waisted trousers but he's not bothered about joggers.

M&S long leg slim fit, with adjustable waists.

If they are sold out (M&S uniform is 20% off right now), Next slim waist trousers.
