He had told me several times that he had got Mrs X, and I was gutted, but he was wrong.

He is having a lovely teach who I met today, and who seems like she will 'get' Ds, which Mrs X definatly wouldn't have.

Also made an appointment to speak to his current reception teacher, as I am worried that he is struggling, and if he is, then I want to know so I can help him more.

Our school generally has fab teachers, and there are two per year. Dh is Chair of Govs and we know the school very well.

Last year I had firm opinions as to which teacher I preferred for both boys, and they both got the other teacher. But both have had fantastic years, and really progressed in ways I wouldn't have predicted with their teachers.

I wonder how you can predict the future Illegal? Could you tell me the lottery numbers for Saturday?

I feel for teachers who get these pre term labels from parents. Yes there are some terrible teachers around but I don't think trying to pre empt how your child will cope with a teacher when it hasn't even happened helps anyone.

Poor Mrs X, thats what I say!
