School uniform recommendations for reception?

Can anyone recommend their favourite girls school trousers for reception age that wash well and are easy to put on? Prefer cotton rather than polyester but there seems to be a lot of polyester in the school trousers i’ve checked so far. School just specifies black trousers. Happy to buy cheap ones, just not polyester.

For PE what style of shorts and trousers do girls normally wear? Leggings or joggers? Bicycle shorts or normal baggy shorts?

M&S used to do "skinkind" (or something like that) trousers that were all cotton but I can't find them now. These ones are 85% cotton if that would work?

Would they allow black leggings or jogging bottoms in Reception? They're far more practical and comfortable. My school allows it in Reception, along with black trainers, due to the practical nature of our curriculum.

M&S have double hems so they last a lot longer.

Bike shorts for girls PE here, I got some extra ones more like football style shorts and was firmly told they are for boys 🙁 she prefers joggers though and doesnt seem fussed about style there!

No school trousers seemed a great fit and we've gone back to leggings - school dont specify anything so assume ifs ok! Seem comfier for her

Thanks all for the tips. The info we were given says no leggings (except for PE) but I’m sure I’ve seen girls wearing leggings when I’ve walked by the school at home time
so I’m not sure.

It doesn't always say jersey in the name, unfortunately, if you're looking online.

Girls here tend to wear leggings in the winter and bicycle shorts in the summer for PE. I get the thicker brushed inside ones for winter. Most primary schools locally don't change for PE now, so if it's a PE day, the girls will be in leggings going to and from school.
