Year 2 move?

Hi I am currently thinking of moving my son (current year 1) into a new school at the start of the next academic year.
although my son is doing well at his current school, my concerns are that he has become involved In a big group of boisterous boys at his current school.
the area of the current school has gone downhill quite dramatically in the last few years and you can definitely see this in the children attending the school.
although there hasn’t been many issues yet with my child I can see that problems are likely in the future and I’m worried he will go down the wrong path. (Dramatic, I know)
the school I am looking to move him to is a much smaller CofE village school and seems to be quieter and calmer. Has anyone ever moved their boisterous boys to a smaller school and seen an improvement? Or am I being totally unreasonable?! Help!

Have you looked around the village school and do they have a place for him?
It sounds like you are anticipating problems rather than looking at the current picture. Being with what you consider “boisterous boys” may be building his social skills, resilience and ability to stand up for himself.
If he’s happy I’d leave him especially as Y2 is the end of a Key Stage. He will probably have more varied opportunities at his current school, more resources, clubs staff etc.
If you’re still not happy you could explore a move for KS2.
