ACCEPT THE OFFER!

Just a reminder if you are disappointed tomorrow. Accept the offer then go on waiting lists for schools you prefer. Turning down a place won’t make the LA offer you the school you want, they will assume you are going private or homeschooling and stop thinking about you.. It’s a long time until September, there will be lots of coming and going on waiting lists.

Oh, and the person you heard of who got offered a place at Burnished Gold Star Best Ever Academy even though “it was the only school on their list and they live miles away” ? Don’t believe a word of it .They got the place because they qualified for it on one of the criteria, not because the LA panicked and thought they needed to offer them a place.

Very wise words. No LA will be blackmailed into offering a place to someone who just put one school preference.

Very good advice. Never ever make the mistake of not accepting a place, even if you have no intention of sending your child to the school you are offered. Always go down the waiting list route. There are many positive waiting list stories.

Good luck for tomorrow, I hope everyone is at the very least satisfied with what they get offered. It might not feel like it at the time, but not being offered your first choice isn't the end of the world. Sometimes it can be a blessing in disguise.
