After school clubs cost

Hello.

I am thinking of starting an after school club from
3.30-5.00pm, the child to adult numbers would be 10:1, the cost would be £15. They would be following a curriculum learning a skill- such as painting, drama, singing, gardening.

Does this price seem reasonable? Alternatively I was thinking £10 for 1hr, but thought the extra £5 for a 5pm pick up might be useful.

London based btw! Xx

So my sons school runs an afterschool club. Five days a week. 3:15 - 5pm. Different activity every day. Could be sport, trampolining, etc. Could be arts and crafts, gardening, cooking, lego, etc. It's £3 a day. So £15 sounds a lot to me!

This is insanely cheap. Is it run by volunteers? Even my daughters Brownies costs more than this, it’s only an hour and doesn’t include food.

At my daughters school wrap around is £15 til 6pm or £10 til 4.30. It’s run by the school and this is a lot cheaper than it was 2-3 years ago when it was run by an external company - from memory it was almost £17 then with no cheaper 4.30 collection time.

Thanks so much everyone, this is my first post on here and the responses have been so helpful. Everyone’s opinion seems super mixed, which is helpful
in itself to know there are such differing views on price/ times etc.

I also feel like didn’t make my original post clear at all, my mistake, this was not a wrap around club for general childcare, which would require snack and ofsted etc. It was more about starting a club such as singing or gardening. Both of which I have qualifications and experience in teaching/ working.

Re price I have done a bit of extra research by chatting to local parents with kids at primary school and some examples of I was given were £10 for a 45 minute crochet club, £13 an hour technology club, and £35(!!!)for an hour of chess in a group of 20 kids for an hour, which is so so so much I think, but I guess it’s all dependent on parent budget, this person sends their three children, but they must be much more well off than me to be able to afford that! The of course there are also other clubs ranging between £5 and £8.

Thanks again to everyone that’s taken the time to reply. I really appreciate it. ❤️💐🌞

Definitely not long enough hours you need to do at least until 6pm but preferably 6:30, most people work until 5 or 5:30 and then need to travel back.

This is a club not wrap around care. At my kids old primary clubs ran for an hour then they where either picked up or went to rap around care after. They are two completely different things
