...or do you need to wait until it's term time?

they'll be nobody there in the hols so you'd have to wait to term time

the schools will be closed but the admissions office in the council is open - they don't follow term times generally

You may find they work a couple of odd weeks in holidays and reopen a week or so before start of term.

Thanks for your replies.

I did wonder if the council had someone who took responsibility, but I can't quite see how that would work in practice. Maybe need to contact council and see.

Hoping it's not going to be an issue for us but we may end up moving catchment area during summer holidays.

If you know where you are likely to move to you could call before end of term and ask when someone might be around to speak to once you have evidence of the address (rental contract/confirmation of exchange of contract, council tax bill etc).

It is a problem we may be facing and one I have emailed the LEA about.

The area know we are moving and we will vivit schools before hand, I will even be teaching in a school myself but we need proof of address to get a school place.
