Buy stuff you won't mind being ruined

Buy mix-and-match things. They have uniform but DSs manage with 3 trousers, 5 polo shirts, 4 sweatshirts and one coat (1 winter coat and 1 light weight rain coat actually).

Any robust shoe/trainer should be fine. Depends what colour the clothes are. Dark school shoes might look odd.

dd1 has one winter coat, one mac, one lighter summer jacket.

2 cardigans
1 skirt, 1 pinafore dress, 1 pair trousers
Enough tops for each day

She has 2 school summer dresses she is wearing now as well, but could have managed without - all the girls wear them though in the nice weather.

TOP TIP....

Get yourself on the PTA or elected a parent governor as soon as you can and campaign for uniform to be introduced.

Yes, get a uniform sorted!

We have (for DS):
2 pairs of trousers (one being an emergency hand me down!)
2 school sweatshirts (ditto with no. 2!)
5 polo shirts

It sort of depends how messy DC is. DS1 was fairly clean thus I didn't need a second sweatshirt til Y1 for him whereas DS2 goes through 2 sweatshirts a week most weeks.

MIx and match, easy to wash, preferrably non iron. Get good shoes, they are in them all day 5 days a week. One coat is all that is necessary, preferabbly dark and waterproof/warm with a hood.

Also make sure the clothes are easy for her to undo etc for going to the toilet and getting changed for PE.
