If this is your second (or more) DC at same primary- have things changed?

Just looking for people's wider opinions really.

2 dc, one was at the primary from 2016-2023 ,2nd dc started same primary 2022

Both kids I would say are very similar temprement/achievement level wise. However their experiences of this school have been night and day.

Elder dc flew at primary, no real bully issues. Is fairly introvert but had and still has a good group of friends, always achieved greater depth academically etc. Always enjoyed school.

Younger child (late summer born) despite doing well with initial transition from nursery to school, with a nice group of friends, started having problems in year 1 with minor friendship issues, which escalated into bullying. School have taken some steps but have not been as effective as I would have hoped. Dc confidence and personality ha e changed and does occasionally feel unable to go to school. Given up other outside activities and struggled with emotional regulation and usual routines like bedtime etc. Now year 3.

I have my own thoughts on why the change so I will hopefully chime back in later but not wanting to sway anyone else's replies- has anyone else with dc around these ages noticed changes at the school or if it's just us? Is this a general shift in schooling and of so why?
