is it a bag that you have given her or one that the school provided?

DS1 doesn't start until September. They have a "uniform" book bag with space for pencils etc. I can't imagine it will carry much more than the daily book too and from school in reception but have bought one anyway!

its one from the school, we have to buy them, coast about £3 max.

they are the perfect size for fitting in their drawers at school. and for carrying A4 sizes of paper around in.

The book bag is provided by our school and goes in Dcs school bag along with their snack box

The school should give you a list of what is needed

DD has a school book bag and in there is a home/school book which is a record of what she has read at home/school and feeedback.

2 reading books

water bottle

purse for her bread roll money!

Other tat that she puts in there to show her pals.

DD1 has a book bag we bought from the school. In it are her reading books she brings home, her reading record I have to fill in, any work she brings home and newsletters etc from the school are put in by the teachers.

no. ask at the school if they have book bags. they should suffice for reception through to about year 2.

dd1 is now in year 3 and has a big high school musical bag, but that carries stuff like her music folders as well.
