Hi All,

DD was just offered a spot in Year 3 at Guildford High School, which we are clearly excited about. Hence as we think about moving wanted to get views on recommendations around where people typically stay if they have kids attending GHS.

What’s your budget?

Thank you . Ideally looking for a 3 bed for around 2500 max but would appreciate thoughts on that as well.

If you want to be near to school I’d look around Charlottville/Boxgrove. The pickings will be slim though. There are quite a few options in the residential roads between Woodbridge Road and Stoke Road currently, but most are north of £2500 and parking is a nightmare in those roads (on street parking).

If you’re willing to drive to school then I’d look further out - Wood St Village, Fairlands, Worplesdon.

Thank you, this is really helpful. Sorry could I also check if there any particular estate agencies that you might possibly recommend?

I think with there being so few rentals in that price bracket, you probably just want to see everything available regardless of which agent it’s with. Though Chantries & Pewley are good.

Thanks Elektra. Just to clarify if we stretch ourselves to closer 3000, would that help materially or would we need even more?

Have a look on Rightmove at what’s available between £2,500-£4,000 and you’ll get a sense of things

Congratulations Mumpunch!
Where are you moving from? We’re also moving to Guildford and have an offer from GHS for year 3!

Gratefulmother · 04/02/2026 01:13

Congratulations! My daughter also got an offer of year 3 at GHS.
