Woodley Reading Primary Schools

We’re moving to Woodley soon and would love some advice.
We have two boys aged 3 and 6. We’ve sorted a nursery for our 3-year-old but need to apply for an in-year transfer for our 6-year-old. Our nearest school is Woodley CofE, which is walking distance. I met the headteacher and staff and they were lovely.
I’ve also looked at Southlake and Rivermead. They’re not walking distance (5 min by car) but seem to have better facilities and a more structured academic approach. My 6-year-old has ADD, so support and structure are important.
As we’re new to the area, I’m unsure whether to prioritise the convenience and community of Woodley CofE or apply elsewhere. I’m also thinking ahead to our younger son starting Reception in Sept 2026 and whether I should apply for Rivermead or Southlake then transfer the 6 year old again once a spot becomes available as both are oversubscribed at the moment

At a 15 minute drive away, are you in the designated priority area for either Rivermead or South Lake? If not, then looking at their admissions policies, your younger DC's main round application would be ranked by each under the final 'other applicants' criterion (although the latter school does say that it is currently undersubscribed in Reception, due to the falling birthrate locally.
