Should I move my child?

Posted a recent thread about this. Not happy with child's current school. Recently become an academy. Lots of teachers left/leaving, TA's not being replaced and some new children started who are very disruptive, bringing the Yr 3 class size up to 32.
Anyway, I've done some research on other primaries. The one closest is full. The only other one I'd consider is 2.4 miles away. We are currently travelling 1.5 miles to school but don't wether the extra mile would be too much. I work part time from home so thats not a problem. This other school is three form entry, which may be better on the social aspect and has an outstanding rating. Though having worked in a school I know the Ofsted rating is not the be all and end all.
My husband thinks its a non starter as just too far. What do you think?

I would

What are the travel times like? 2.4 miles is nothing in many parts of the country, but 30mins in traffic in other parts!

Well it’s just a bit further along a road I currently drive. But there’s no getting away from it, it would be 20-25 mins in the morning. Shorter on the way home

I live rurally. I used to drive 45 mins each way to get my children to school. This extra mile really feels like a nonsense to me if you want the school.

Yeah I see what you mean about the extra mile. He’s happy at the moment and my husband thinks we shouldn’t be too hasty in case he moves and hates it. However I found out today that my child in Year 3 only has a teacher for 4 mornings a week! HLTA covers one day and class TA the other 4 afternoons!! How is this allowed?!
