CE St Andrew’s school / Southgate primary schools

Hi community,

I am urgently asking for advice about Southgate primary schools.

We are moving into the area and I have applied for reception and in-year 4 places for kids.

Barnet council allocated CE St Andrew’s school places for my kids but I have never seen the school . Is anyone familiar with this school and can advise my how good it is comparing to Osidge school. What language do kids study? How is the playground?

I initially had Ashmole primary, CE St. Andrew’s and Osidge school listed ( closest to my post code).

We are in the waiting list for Ashmole primary but I was told no one really leaves the school so not sure how quickly the waiting list will
move.

any advice on CE St Andrew’s would be appreciated. I am contemplating if I should go for Osidge school instead but CE St. Andrew’s have very academic results based on Google search.

Realistically, you don't have any actual choice with a late application like the one you are putting in. Take the place offered and go on the WL for any you prefer. you can't 'go for' Osidge if there are no places.

@whitepowerbank thank you. I am very happy that same school was allocated of course. We are benefitting from low birth rates during COVID.

It's so strange to see this post! I worked at St As in my first teaching job 20 years ago. Back then it was a wonderful school and I loved working there. The children, the families and the staff were all amazing. I cant talk for how it is now though (I left in 2013), but I'm sure it hasn't changed that much. I still have colleagues working there but they are, of course, going to say how wonderful it is! The facilities are great, it has a huge field as well as playgrounds. Plus a school garden (I hope it's still there) that I set up!
