The dreaded SATS!

I couldn't be less bothered about ds's KS1 SATS. However, I am a bit puzzled that he came home last Tuesday saying he's done a Maths test, and apparently hasn't done any more. Could they have done the literacy in such a low key way that he didn't even notice - or have some other people not done them yet? The problem is that I was going to ask to take him out of school early on Friday so do a quick trip to visit Grandma, and if they are doing a test the teacher will say no, and I want to make plans! Anybody any thoughts?

I suspect it sounds low-key. Can't see any tests being done on a Friday afternoon before half-term.

That's what I wondered - low key I mean. But I would have thought that even ds might have noticed he was asked to sit down at a table and fill in an answer book. After all, he noticed the maths one (he could even remember one of the questions "what's half of 550?" and his answer "230"!) Oh well, I suppose I'll have to check tomorrow morning, just in case. Trouble is, I don't want to look like the sort of mother who cares about SATS!

DD did her SATS last week, she says it was a booklet she read and had to answer questions, I'm assuming they're all the same, I can find out what it was about if you want so you can see if Ds remembers it?

Apparently they did 'moving house' a reading comprehension, a boy called Jamie got to have fish and chips on their laps as they had no knives and forks

Thank you - I'll ask when he gets home form football. Did your dd know what half 550 was?

She said 555
She also says they didn't do that question though, so maybe they are different?

My daughter is sitting her writing parper on Friday morning - so much for not doing them at the last moment. Also hasn't done her reading assessment yet.
