Hearing from schools

We accepted our offer on allocation day, just wondering when it is usual to hear from the school or if anyone has already?

Every council and school is different.

I live between two council areas, and the one we're going to we had to proactively confirm via email with the school that we were accepting the place (which they have responded to). The other council area works on an assumption you have accepted, so parents who are going to one of those schools don't need to do anything.

In our area you don't have to actively accept but we still heard from the school within a few weeks. Might be worth giving the school a call just to check you haven't missed an email.

The school my kids go to contacted us after May half term with information. There was a parent meeting early July.

I wouldn't worry too much right now. Schools are only just coming back from Easter in some areas (and have barely been back for a week in many others). There is also still a lot of movement going on, and decisions for late applicants.

Many schools won't be in touch until they have a firmer idea of who is attending. Many of them will also be starting to talk to nurseries etc about the children that have been accepted.

If you have done what your LA have asked you to do, the school will be in touch in good time.
