St Geoeges’s or Staines Prep - Surrey’s top prep school

Hi there, I live in Chertsey and am keen to send my kid to a private school around us. She starts reception in September 2025. I’m confused where to send her because none of the schools around us appear on any league tables.

So far, hubs and I either like St George’s Weybridge since it’s fancy or Staines Prep which says it’ll prep kids for 11+.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

St George's is a lovely school, and it's all through so some will see that as a bonus (less worry about getting an 11+ place). But have you already applied? AFAIK the deadline will have passed to apply for either school.
If you haven't, Downsend is also a lovely school and is worth a look. Because it is split into Little Downsend, Juniors and Seniors, you might have more of a chance of getting a place. They have 3 sites, the Leatherhead one is the largest. Little Downsend Leatherhead - Downsend Pre Prep

Have you considered St John's Beaumont? It is a small school but the pre-prep is particularly brilliant and several children continue on to St George's College at 13+. It is no longer all boys catholic and recently under new ownership which seems really positive.
