Cambridge primary state schools

Hi everyeone, we are moving to Cambridge for September 2025 from North London. Any recommendation on the local primary schools? We are looking to be moving into the City, rather than the surrounding villages. I have heard good things about Newnham Croft and Morely Memorial, but not so about Fawcett. Any thoughts? Also, what about Queen Edith primary?
Many thanks in advance for all your help :-)

Are you seeking a reception place for 2026 or for an older child? If the latter, it will depend on which schools have places.

Unfortunately it is for Y 1 and Y 3. I know it will depend on where they have places but I would like to know which ones are good so that we try to be on a waiting list? Any thoughts?

Does anybody have any further thoughts on this?

Find out which ones have places in the years you are wanting first and how much movement there is. Your questions is irrelevant if the schools people recommend have no places and waiting lists in one or both of the years you want. Realistically, if there are waiting lists for both year groups, that school won't be a practical possibility unless you are happy to home ed one or both children for some time first.
