Screen using at school

Hi, I would like to ask how do you think about screen using at school, especially in early years. I went to my dd's school last week to help running an activity. And I was shocked they always give kids screen. I was not staying there all the time, but I popped there 4-5times during 1.30-3.20, and they were watching TV. For the class I stayed in, they did give children TV in between the activities, but I can't tell it is just because of the unusual circumstances or they do always like this. I do concern about their screen using no matter it is educational or just for fun. I am OK with half an hour a day but not like what I saw. What is you observations and I am happy to have your suggestions.

Not my experience. At my DDs school they do use Chromebooks if they're doing "research" type work and making PowerPoints, most work is with pen and paper. They're allowed to play games if they finish their work too but they only have maths/reading type games available.
The only actual TV is during breakfast club or if it's raining at break time.

Can I ask what school that is?
