Nurseries to prepare for 4+

Question for all the mums whose children sat the 4+ exam, especially those who received offers from their first-choice schools.

Did you send your child to a more academically focused nursery (I’m in North West London, so places like Broadhurst, Clowns, etc.), or did a more play-based nursery work with some extra support at home?

we went with a nursery that is on the more academic side of things and got offers. I also know others in more play based settings who got offers. I also know of children not at any nursery and stay at home with mum who got offers.

point being - pick a nursery you love, close to home, somewhere your child will thrive and enjoy those nursery years. Do all the usual stuff I’m sure you are already doing - read to them, play with them, talk and converse with them, take them outside and talk about what you see etc etc.

4+ is a crapshoot. I wouldn’t waste energy and stress trying to engineer it.
