Hello, we have an offer for dd to join in nursery at blackheath high. Any mums who can share their opinion on the school and if school is academic/ has dd’s doing really well in secondary?

Lovely school, very nurturing and caring for DD. However academics not pushy at all, which leads to many dilemmas when applying for senior schools unless you plan to continue on to year 7. You will definitely have to tutor at some point if you intend to secure a scholarship or move elsewhere for senior/grammar schools.

i just left year 11 and i went to this school from nursery-year 6. i loved it and made so many friends. my parents didn’t think it was the best place for me academically cause they moved me on quickly and i have a hard time focusing, everyone in the classes went at the same pace and they moved on quickly but everyone’s different! i had such a good experience though and i still miss it but i always felt really behind and had to get extra help most of the time (which they had)
