Just wondering if anyone knew if there has been / will be movement on these reserve lists? Deadline for acceptances was today so hoping there will be some movement driven by those with multiple offers!

When will they start going through the reserve lists!

Sitting here with everything crossed for my DS....

The phone calls for movements should start to happen today as they start going through those lists! Good luck.

Yes, there is movement. Someone I know has been offered a spot off the reserve list at one of the above mentioned schools.

SPJ waitlist moved—I know two who came off the waitlist around the acceptance deadline.

WUS waitlist didn't move—all places were accepted by firm offer holders.

Yes - that's what I heard re WUS. I know 2 who had SPJS offers and were on WUS WL, but as it did not move they accepted SPJS.

Just curious why does it seem people prefer WUS to SPJS?

PizzaPastaPannaCotta · 07/02/2025 14:21

One shouldn't underestimate practical factors like logistics that weigh in the decision between these two top tier academic schools. Co-ed at WUS must also be factoring into people's minds. Great to hear that WLs are moving. We are probably over the first batch of movements; if further movements happen it's probably due to sheer chance!

Also don't forget WUS only takes 22, and I think they offered 25? I know 1 boy who gave up WUS for SPJS.
SPJS takes 54.

Good question. Lots of different reasons why people prefer WUS or SPJ, it's really personal. But lately, I've seen more families picking King's, Latymer and etc over SPJ, saying they want a gentler atmosphere or a co-ed school for their boy. This year, quite a few boys I know only applied to co-ed schools. Parents' preferences seem shifting in London, maybe partly because of everyone invited. That's probably why WUS (and other boys' schools) are going co-ed, quite cleverly.
