Todays the deadline for school admissions and I've just submitted it in. Last day. Because i applied so late could this ruin my chances of my child getting in? Or does it not work like that?

If it's on time, it will be considered exactly the same as all the others. Nobody gets an advantage for submitting early.

If it's late, then it gets considered after all the on time applications.

I am not sure if there are any regional differences but here the deadline was 23.59 yesterday/Weds. If it was in by then you have no problem, no advantage to applying early.

There are no regional variations. The deadline was 15th January everywhere. It was still 15th when OP posted.

As others have said, all on-time applications must be considered equally. There is no priority for applying early.
